The
Uralskiy Farfor factory is
located in the city of Yuzhnouralsk
in the Chelyabinsk Region, 90 miles away from the
metropolitan area of Chelyabinsk.
Porcelain
products made by the Uralskiy Farfor
factory have always been popular in Russia
because of their high quality, unique designs, and prices.
The
Uralskiy Farfor factory
carried on the traditions of great Russian porcelain
craftsmen from the very day of its founding in 1963. Porcelain from Yuzhnouralsk enjoys wide recognition in the countries of
the former USSR,
as well as in such foreign states as Mongolia,
Australia,
Israel,
Yemen,
Afghanistan,
etc. The factory's administration is currently considering entering the market
in the Untied States.
High-level
artistry, exquisite ornaments, an abundance of vivid colors and gildings are
the distinctive characteristics of the best kind of Russian porcelain that is
made by Uralskiy Farfor. One
other property of porcelain items the factory makes is the artists' use of
local folk-tale elements in drawing the ornaments. Uralskiy
Farfor manufactures a number of tableware collections
in addition to various gift items. A decorated porcelain coffee-set is the most
classic example of Uralskiy Farfor's
art. Brilliant colors and stylized form make each coffee-set a perfect
adornment for a special-occasion dinner.
The
factory's craftsmen have won numerous awards at different exhibitions. Among
the most recent distinctions are a gold medal of “Moscow's
IV International Exhibition: Porcelain, Ceramics, Glass” in 2002 and various
awards at “Moscow's
Show of Household Items,” the “Chelyabinsk's International Show,” and the
“Yekaterinburg's Exhibition in 2003.”
In
2003, the factory celebrated its 40th birthday. During its 40 years of
operation, Uralskiy Farfor
made over 570 million porcelain items.
Uralskiy Farfor's team of craftsmen always strives to preserve its
style and to keep up the image of the factory's exclusive, stylish, and
up-to-date products.
Currently,
Uralskiy Farfor is
producing a one-of-a-kind porcelain bust of Russia's
President Vladimir Putin.
